Les personnes insomniaques \u00e9prouvent de la difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 s\u2019endormir ou \u00e0 rester endormies. Un manque de sommeil chez ces personnes peut provoquer une somnolence pendant la journ\u00e9e. L\u2019insomnie peut \u00eatre de courte ou de longue dur\u00e9e. Elle peut affecter le travail, la scolarit\u00e9, la vie sociale et la sant\u00e9. L\u2019insomnie peut survenir \u00e0 cause de mauvaises habitudes de sommeil mais certaines conditions peuvent \u00e9galement aggraver ou provoquer l\u2019insomnie comme la d\u00e9pression, l\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9, les allergies et la douleur.\u00a0<\/p><p>L&rsquo;insomnie n&rsquo;est pas d\u00e9finie par le nombre d&rsquo;heures de sommeil, puisque chaque personne a besoin d&rsquo;une quantit\u00e9 diff\u00e9rente de sommeil.<\/p><p><strong>Comment traiter l\u2019insomnie?<\/strong><\/p><p>La prise en charge de l&rsquo;insomnie n\u00e9cessite une approche progressive, en commen\u00e7ant d`abord par des tentatives d&rsquo;\u00e9limination ou de minimisation des facteurs contributifs et des maladies concomitantes qui causent l\u2019insomnie.<\/p><p>Il est tr\u00e8s important, avant de prendre des m\u00e9dicaments en vente libre ou sur ordonnance, d&rsquo;essayer d&rsquo;int\u00e9grer les bonnes habitudes de sommeil (hygi\u00e8ne du sommeil) suivantes dans la routine quotidienne. Il est alors possible d&rsquo;\u00e9viter de prendre des m\u00e9dicaments si ces mesures sont bien suivies.<\/p><p>Voici les principales BONNES HABITUDES DE SOMMEIL que nous recommandons \u00e0 nos patients:<\/p><ul><li>Allez au lit uniquement lorsque vous vous sentez somnolent.<\/li><li>Maintenez des horaires de sommeil r\u00e9guliers \u2013 m\u00eame les fins de semaine.<\/li><li>Pratiquez r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement des exercices \u2013 \u00e9vitez les exercices tard le soir.<\/li><li>Oubliez les probl\u00e8mes au moment d\u2019aller au lit.<\/li><li>Faites une activit\u00e9 relaxante et agr\u00e9able avant d\u2019aller vous coucher.<\/li><li>Cr\u00e9ez une ambiance calme et confortable dans votre chambre.<\/li><li>\u00c9vitez les repas copieux avant d\u2019aller au lit.<\/li><li>R\u00e9servez la chambre au sommeil et \u00e0 l\u2019activit\u00e9 sexuelle.<\/li><li>Si vous ne vous endormez pas dans les 15 \u00e0 20 minutes suivantes, levez-vous et allez dans une autre pi\u00e8ce. Retournez-vous coucher seulement lorsque vous vous sentez somnolent.<\/li><li>\u00c9vitez de faire une sieste au courant de la journ\u00e9e.
